    Our History

    In 1970, around the time the M3 first came through our valley, a group of local residents in the Upper Itchen Valley established the charity to protect all that is good about our valley.

    Our Valley

    The Civil Parishes of Itchen Valley and Itchen Stoke & Ovington, plus the area East of the A31 (London Road) in KIngs Worthy Civil Parish

    Including the villages and surrounding area of Abbotts Worthy, Easton, Chilland, Martyr Worthy, Avington, Itchen Abbas, Itchen Stoke and Ovington.

Our Focus

Protecting and promoting our environment, our heritage and our community. Our environment includes the land, river and air, as well as the flora and fauna within it. Our heritage includes the natural landscape, our historical build environment and traditions. Our community includes our residents and people involved in businesses , schools and clubs across our valley

    Our Trustees

    The charity is run by nine volunteer Trustees in accordance with our founding articles and fiduciary duties set out by the Charities Commission.

    We have over 400 Members, who live within the locality of the Upper Itchen Valley.

    And approximately 100 Associate Members, who live outside the locality.
